Hi, I’m Sheena! I’m a certified Clinical Audiologist, Health Coach and Women’s Health Nutritionist specialising in tinnitus management, gut and hormone health. If you are struggling with persistent symptoms like digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, fatigue, or tinnitus, you’re not alone. Many women experience ongoing health concerns that affect their daily lives but often feel unheard or unsure where to turn to for support. My goal is to help women understand their bodies better and make practical, sustainable changes that can improve energy, mood, digestion, sleep and overall vitality. My approach is not about quick fixes or restrictive plans. Instead, it focuses on education, empowerment, and creating habits that truly work in real life.
I started my career working as a Clinical Audiologist for 20 years, exploring many different aspects of Audiology, in particular paediatrics, hearing assessment and rehabilitation and tinnitus management. I also have a Doctorate in Audiology which I completed in 2009. Like many people working in the health and wellness space, my journey began with a passion for understanding how the body works after experiencing low ferritin and iron deficiency symptoms and how everyday lifestyle choices can profoundly affect our health. Over time, I became especially interested in the unique health challenges women face and how factors such as hormones, digestion, stress, and inflammation can influence overall wellbeing.
Women’s bodies go through many changes throughout life, including hormonal fluctuations, stress from busy lifestyles, and the physical demands of balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities. These factors can influence everything from energy levels and digestion to sleep and mood.
Many women are told their symptoms are “normal” or something they simply have to live with. However, symptoms are often signals from the body that something needs attention.
Through health coaching, I support women in identifying lifestyle and nutritional factors that may be affecting their health and help them develop realistic strategies to improve how they feel day to day.
Your gut plays a central role in your health. It influences digestion, immune function, hormone balance, mental wellbeing, and even skin health. When the gut is out of balance, it can contribute to symptoms such as:
As a gut health coach, I help clients explore the possible root causes behind these symptoms and support them in creating habits that nourish the digestive system. This often includes guidance around nutrition, stress management, sleep, and lifestyle changes that support a healthy gut microbiome.
Tinnitus, often described as ringing, buzzing, or humming in the ears, can be extremely frustrating and sometimes overwhelming. While it is commonly treated as an ear-related condition, many women find tinnitus starts or gets worse when they enter perimenopause or are menopausal. Hormonal shifts in oestrogen and progesterone can influence circulation, including to the brain and ear, which may contribute to tinnitus and can worsen with stress or fatigue. When oestrogen levels drop, it can affect how the auditory system processes sound and impede hearing sensitivity. It is not just hormones alone, other factors such as stress, anxiety, inflammation, diet, sleep quality, and nervous system health can influence their symptoms.
My approach to tinnitus support focuses on looking at the body as a whole. By supporting gut health, managing stress, improving lifestyle habits, and addressing potential triggers, many people can reduce the impact tinnitus has on their daily lives.
Deep breathing, meditation, yoga, or tai chi can lower anxiety, which often makes tinnitus worse.
magnesium, zinc, vitamin B12, omega 3 fatty acids all support reducing tinnitus symptoms by improving ear health and increasing blood flow to the ear. It is important to also stay hydrated and avoid ultra processed foods.
I believe that lasting health improvements come from small, consistent changes rather than extreme diets or complicated routines.
My coaching focuses on:
